Growing up in Kearney Nebraska, the symbol of the crane was everywhere I looked. Whether it be statues, paintings, songs, or the cranes themselves. The sandhill cranes have come to represent our small town. Their migration to Nebraska every year symbolizes the arrival of spring and new beginnings. They’re beauty and eloquence has inspired me to create works of art centered around them. These acrylic paintings were meant to explore their uniqueness and share with others what their arrival looks, or rather, feels like to those who have witnessed it every year.
